Established in 1990 by three leading hotel management educators, IMI provides every student with the best opportunity to acquire relevant, up-to-date knowledge of the subject area of international hotel tourism management and to develop skills appropriate to their present and future needs. Its mission permeates the approach to teaching and learning in an environment of diverse nationalities and cultures that have different needs and aspirations.

The philosophy of IMI is to give the best possible education based on traditional Swiss hotellerie, combined with the most modern international management methods. The constantly updated facilities and support services are ideally suited for young people from all around the world. Individual attention is given to students. The atmosphere of learning is almost as important as the content of the programmes. A friendly, cooperative atmosphere is encouraged among students, and between students and staff.

At IMI, students are educated to become management level of staff and the paid in-training practicum supplies students with real life work experiences leading to successful future career.
